Site Plan
Visitors' Center, Pope John Paul II Park Dorchester, Massachusetts
This 2800 sf glass and wood structure includes a meeting room, display space for educational exhibits on park history and ecology, and a variety of public services. A garden pergola links these functions to an adjacent picnic shelter and play area, creating a gateway to this 68 acre park. All spaces within the park structure have views to playing fields and the Neponset River estuary.
This project will be built using a wide variety of sustainable technologies, including wind turbines, rain water recycling, a sod roof, and geothermal technologies. The final project will be designed to the highest LEED certification standards.
