This family compound includes two houses, a guest house and a pool house, all oriented around a central lawn defined by a perimeter pergola. Our design integrates the residential privacy that different family groups require with a series of outdoor gathering places that accommodate their common interests.

This gently sloping site provides views for all the houses across conservation land toward the Vineyard Haven harbor and to East Chop beyond. Our design was granted an exemption from local height restrictions, because it was deemed compatible with surrounding historic architecture. Construction is due to be complete in June, 2007.
